Description:The PitchMap is a tool created for entrepreneurs by entrepreneurs to help startups create a powerful 15, 30, or 60 second elevator pitch, quickly. The process is simple and takes less than 5 minutes. This concept has been used for years to help distill facts and confusing information into a short, sharp, tight delivery system to help you get funded or to help get you in the right doors for a full on investor pitch.Step 1 - What are the key words and phrases used to describe your idea/product? Collect as many as you can think of on the left side of the PitchMap. Take your time. Cross out all but the most important and most relevant needed to describe your idea / product. Step 2 - Using the key words and phrases, create a “Twitter Headline” about the most important thing you want to convey in your short pitch.Step 3 - Reinforce the headline with 3 “Supporting Points”. 1 to 3 words each. Step 4 - To lengthen the pitch to 30/60 seconds, connect very specific bullet points with examples, simple stats, or very simple, relevant data to each of the supporting points.Step 5 - On the right side of the page, write out the short pitch in a conversational tone. Use words you would use in normal conversation. Start with the headline, hit each of the supporting points. Don’t rush your delivery. Create a 15 second, a 30 second, and a 60 second pitch.Step 6 - Once you have the pitch written out, click the recording button at the top right of the screen and choose, 15 , 30, or 60 seconds. Then, hit record and pitch! Listen back and see how you like it. Is it too short? Too long? No? Then send it to your team members. They'll know the correct inflections to use for each word and phrase when they find themselves in a situation to give the elevator pitch.
